Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Senior process systems Engineer in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.

 

Main responsibilities 

  •  Support the development of projects through technical assessments/investigations, due diligence studies and designs by engaging the various business units and relevant stakeholders to progress projects through the internal company decision gates.
  • Take ownership and responsibility to ensure all technical/contractual requirements are considered and implemented enabling the successful completion of the projects.
  • Establish the integrated system design once the overall process sizing has been defined by the process engineering team.
  • Responsibility for the technical aspects of Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia and E-methanol project feasibility and project development support.
  • Identification and optimisation of solutions to improve the project business case. High focus on technology selection, energy efficiency and process optimization, customization and finding the right techno-economic model for the projects.
  • Strong technical background with good project commercial awareness
  • Management of contractors and consultants including; scoping and planning of work scopes, evaluation & selection & subsequent management of contractors.

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering, ideally a master’s degree
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English to a very good working level
  • 10+ years of experience in a feasibility-, concept studies, front-end engineering. Preferably from reputable international engineering company
  • Experience in the development and scoping of project requirements and scenarios or execution of feasibility and concept phase studies

 For the particular role we also expect the candidate to

  • Develop and lead feasibility and concept studies for projects, particularly in pre-FEED phases.
  • Specialize in Methanol, Ammonia, and Hydrogen production facilities, including managing system integration.
  • Support Technical Safety (HSSE) & E&S teams, ensuring compliance in technical design.
  • Review and oversee key project documents such as BFDs, PFDs/UFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists, and layouts.
  • Draft and manage project design basis, interface management, and review specifications and scopes of work.
