Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Project Finance Manager in São Paulo, Brasil to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Project Finance Manager, you will be responsible for financial evaluation, financial analysis, risk assessment and running the financing (and sometimes equity) process of new projects during all phases of project development i.e. from inception to financial close. Therewith you help build the regional pipeline and backlog. Moreover, you are there to support our under-construction and our operating assets with lender negotiations and refinancing s.

 

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Financial modelling: Prepare comprehensive financial models, Delivery of cash flow analysis, Analyse project scenarios, Input evaluation and optimisation, optimise business case, maximise value creation, Evaluation of project risks (incl. merchant), Analyse project returns.
  • Structuring: Prepare Project Finance input to presentations during all project phases, prepare relevant due diligence documentation, Support tax structuring, off-take structuring and contract structuring efforts, Support business development team with financial analyses as required during commercial negotiations, Support business development team with setting up partnership structures
  • Interaction with lenders, insurance advisers, tax advisers and financial advisers: Negotiate with lenders to obtain optimal financing terms, Collect, and prepare required project information to be shared with lenders, apply external advisor input appropriately, Coordinate advisor workstreams and manage interactions, Engage with and coordinate with equity partners.
  • Research: Evaluate new technology financial feasibility (including BESS - battery energy storage systems), Investigate tax legislation, investigate legal aspects, investigate novel funding opportunities, contribute to building regional (country) expertise wrt financing market, macroeconomics, lender relations
  • Internal project team coordination / interaction: Obtain project inputs from all stakeholders and ensure appropriate capturing in financial models, define results in project risk / return, financial counterpart of Business Development and Asset Ownership, liaise with project team members / departments across organisation and geographies, Coordinate with Project Finance & Investments team on general PF policies and guidelines, Support senior management decision making
  • In conjunction with Energy Portfolio Management team (EPM): focus on translating revenue risk in financial models and metrics for investment decisions. This includes evaluating price risk and off-taker credit risk. Apply experience and knowledge in the region and adhere to relating guidelines and policies.

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar University level education
  • 5+ years background in Project Finance / Structured Finance
  • 5+ years’ experience in complex financial modelling using MS Excel
  • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English and Portuguese.

 

        Will be a differential (Ideal):

  • Demonstrated involvement in (closing) Project Financed projects (Investment)
  • Renewable energy experience
  • Experienced in working international context, working in/with different (business) cultures.
