Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Project Manager in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Project Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Project Performance; including Management of the contract, cost, schedule, and interfaces with project stakeholders, as well as safety of personnel and equipment. Responsible for all reporting to both the SPV (customer) and internal management. 

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Operation Systems: Follow guidelines and prescribed structures as oulined by the operating system
  • Successfully implement the operating system throughout the structuring and execution phase of the project
  • Manage Structuring Phase of Projects: Establish, coordinate and manage the project team
  • Establish a realistic, effective and robust Project Management Plan
  • Support negotiations with Suppliers and Contractors
  • Assist and lead the supply chain division issuing RFP’s, managing the bid evaluation process
  • Ensure to establish a strong and efficient management team for the execution phase
  • Conduct meetings with the stakeholders concerning contractual problems and issues
  • Receive, assess and administrate all Project related claims and variations, including milestone payments
  • Continuously evaluate project KPI’s to ensure positive project performance and identify early risks related to the schedule and budget overruns

  • Ensure high standards for HSE, Quality, Environmental and CSR

Qualifications 

  • Degree in Construction Management or Civil/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • SACPCMP Registered as Pr.CPM  Pr.Eng, CEng or similar registrations
  • Excellent trackrecord of managing large scale renewable energy and construction projects
  • Accredited training for FIDIC and NEC Contracts
  • Sound knowledge of contracts related to energy generation projects
  • Good understanding of Utility interfaces and stakeholders
  • 10+ years management experience of managing large scale construction projects 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing renewable construction projects
  • Management of all construction aspects, electrical, mechanical and civil works
  • An excellent knowledge of MS Office, and project reporting
  • Speak and write English fluently
  • Other language skills like Spanish, German, French are advantageous
  • Based in Cape Town and able to travel to site frequently
