Main Purpose of the Position
As a Contract Analyst, you will provide support to Scatec Projects in Brazil by overseeing construction contracts and offering detailed analysis to the Project Management Team in the areas of Procurement and Logistics. In collaboration with the Project Manager and Contract Manager, you will manage subcontracts to protect Scatec's interests. The role will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the execution of the contractual framework, providing periodic reports to project management and the governance structure on these matters, as well as monitoring the logistics operations necessary for the construction of the project.
In carrying out these duties, the senior analyst will closely collaborate and interact with project management, supply chain management, construction management, legal, project control functions, and other relevant parties, contributing insights and recommendations based on detailed analyses.
Main Responsibilities
Operating System
- Follow the guidelines and prescribed structures defined by the operating system.
Provide continuous input towards the improvement and optimization of the operating system.
Successfully implement the operating system throughout all phases of development, structuring, and execution of the project.
Manage Contractor Selection:
- Oversee the prequalification and initial selection of key contractors and subcontractors.
Facilitate the tendering process, evaluate proposals, and conduct negotiations to finalize contracts in alignment with the procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, such as the EBRD Procurement Guidelines or other relevant frameworks.
Commercial Management of Subcontractors:
- Adopt a commercial perspective in managing contractors and subcontractors, including formal correspondence related to contract management and interface risks.
Manage contractual determinations and payments to contractors, handle variations in scope, and address claims for additional costs and extensions of time.
Attend internal and external progress meetings in coordination with the project manager.
Support the on-site team and validate progress measurements for payment certification, ensuring all necessary quality supporting documentation is complete.
Prepare payment certificates, receive and check invoices, all in accordance with the contracts.
Prepare final account agreements in coordination with the site team.
Logistics Responsibility:
- Highlight equipment, materials and logistic risk identified during the construction phase and timeously communicate to Line Manager
Qualifications and Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent, in Contract Administration or Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or preferably a combination of the former.
- Quantity Survey education and experience
- Project Management Education
- Relevant courses in the FIDIC Contractual Framework and/or other relevant internationally renowned contract standards.
- 3+ years management experience from procurement and contract management for projects in the Renewable and Oil&Gas.
This includes the following:
- Managing the procurement and contracting process
- Contract Management during execution
- 3+ years from EPC organizations
- Knowledge of requirements for EPC Contracts (FIDIC ++)
- Fluent both written and spoken in Portuguese.
- Other language skills such as English and Spanish are an advantage.
- Experience and competence in Procurement and Contract Management for projects
- Experience and a proven track record of working as an integral part of project management teams, focusing on identifying and implementing commercially acceptable and risk-balanced contracting solutions.
