Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Lead Project Planner in South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Lead Project Planner you will be responsible to prepare and manage overall master project programme (schedule), integrating work breakdown structure for progress measurement, scheduling, progress reporting and project control.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the Operating System
  • Compile Project Program (Schedules) for Opportunity / Development as required by Business Development
  • Assist in developing Milestones to be integrated in the relevant PPA
  • Compile / Prepare overall master project program (schedule) for Delivery phase integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Setting up the baseline, cost weighting and generating the S-Curves
  • Coordinate schedule from multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into the overall project master schedule, including histogram and machinery analysis
  • Compile Program Memorandum Basis incorporating all the necessary information relevant to the Project
  • Support engineering team with planning for engineering documents, MDL and Programme alignment and document progress reporting
  • Support project manager with Gate Review planning and preparation
  • Understand contractual matter, identify critical milestones and notifications (PPA time analysis), incorporate on the master project program
  • Reviewing / verifying the contractor’s baseline, Programme Basis Memorandum, Manpower and machinery histograms and S-Curve
  • Update the project schedule based on work achieved, baseline updates and reporting, as well as providing forecast to Supply Chain/Logistics/PM on upcoming and critical activities
  • Coordinate the site project planner to ensure Scatec’s policy, procedures and templates are followed as well as the information gathered from the contractors are incorporated into the overall project master schedule, including histogram analysis

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Formal Technical Qualification (Construction, Engineering, Project Management)
  • 8+ years of experience with projects involving procurement and construction (EPC)
  • Advanced knowledge of Planning Tools - Primavera (required) and others (MS Project, MS Office)
  • Experience with EPC Renewable project is desirable (Wind & Solar)
  • Critical path analysis and risk evaluations experience
  • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English (any other language is a plus)
