Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for an Accountant in Tunis, to be part of our global team , working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As an Accountant, you will manage accounting, financial controlling, and reporting for Scatec’s Tunisian subsidiaries, ensuring IFRS compliance and overseeing the outsourced accounting firm’s service delivery.

Main responsibilities 

• Manage outsourced accounting results.
• Oversee monthly reporting for the Tunisian portfolio.
• Review regulatory reports and ICO reconciliations.
• Lead month-end closing and review annual financial statements.
• Ensure P2P compliance before payments.
• Coordinate weekly domestic and international payments.
• Verify invoice compliance and apply WHT.
• Prepare and upload payments to the accounting system.
• Manage petty cash and resolve supplier issues.
• Define accounting processes in ERP.
• Collaborate with outsourced accountants and supervise ERP users.
• Manage ERP system improvements and localization.
• Review tax returns and monitor legal changes.
• Ensure timely tax submissions and payments.
• Address complex tax issues with external firms.
• Coordinate and lead external and tax audits.
• Support KYC, compliance, and register updates.
• Provide general finance team assistance.

Qualifications and competencies 

• Diploma/Degree in Finance or Accounting 
• Solid Microsoft Excel experience
• Understanding of finance function and sub-processes
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Preparation of basic trial balance is a must 
• Being flexible and experienced with ERP systems
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 and Power BI is an advantage
• Attention to detail and accuracy
