Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Compliance and IDD Analyst in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision –Improving our future.
The Compliance Analyst shall contribute to ensure the effective implementation of the Scatec Integrity Due Diligence policies and procedures in force from time to time. The position is part of the IDD team - ensuring that all counterparties contracted by Scatec are risk assessed and vetted. The role will be expected to also develop Scatec’s IDD policies and procedures and other internal controls and conduct relevant integrity due diligence training for employees.
Main responsibilities
- Policies and Procedures: assist in developing the Scatec Integrity Due Diligence policies and procedures and relevant governing documents in Scatec related to integrity due diligence (“IDD”)
- Perform appropriate integrity due diligence of all prospective counterparties (i.e. suppliers, business partners, customers and partners) to ensure that all business relationships meet the internal policy requirements of Scatec
- Review and assess the adequacy of the counterparty`s internal policies and procedures to manage the risks arising from engagement with Scatec
- Organize and perform compliance orientation interviews with counterparties to ensure that the Scatec values are communicated and understood
- Prepare Integrity Due Diligence reports
- Provide advice on the integrity risk of a business relationship and recommend mitigating actions
- Ensure documentation is filed accurately to ensure and allow for audit trace.
- Use existing, and contribute to the development of internal IDD systems and tools
- IDD Training: Develop and maintain the IDD training course for relevant employees
- Organize and perform regular IDD training sessions
Qualifications and competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Law (preferred), Social Sciences, International Relations, War and conflict, Communication Studies, Public Policy or any related social sciences field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in identifying and analysing integrity risks, sustainability and compliance in a risk management position
- 3+ years experience working in the field of integrity due diligence, compliance, corporate social responsibility or KYC in an international company, preferably within the financial- or energy-sector
- Knowledge of legal frameworks within anti-corruption, money laundering, economic sanctions and international best practice for integrity due diligence
- Experience in development and implementation of compliance programs, risk assessments, and integrity due diligence
- Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Additional languages considered an advantage.
