Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Accounting, Tax and Reporting Manager in Amman, Jordan to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Accounting, Tax and Reporting Manager you will be performing the accounting process up to trial balance, monthly internal reporting and analysis, and support audit preparations and audit fieldwork enquiries, as well as  providing relevant and up-to-date information and reply to ad hoc queries in relation to asset management, EPC and O&M.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Capture day – to – day transactions on the accounting software system (GP dynamics), this includes all transactions including monthly closing transactions e.g., accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, invoicing, reconciliations etc.
  • Handle the monthly closing for all entities and reporting to the group.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory compliance towards governmental authorities and lenders.
  • Prepare quarterly, semi-annual and year-end financial statements including statutory year-end financial statements.
  • Tax compliance, which includes preparation and reporting on VAT every two months, prepare corporate taxes and action related payments to the tax authorities.
  • Handle all tasks and projects assigned by country manager/ Senior finance and Assets Manager. And work closely with the office admin officer.
  • Handle the external audits which involves providing auditors with the needed documentations, analysis, and any other matters to ensure smooth and successful audit.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process. Gradually handle the budgeting process independently.

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting & reporting.
  • Preferred accounting experience in Renewable energy, construction sector.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of the local tax law, regulations and tax procedures.
  • Full or partial professional qualifications such as CMA or CPA is preferred.
  • Preferred to have 1-2 years of audit experience in an audit firm (big 4 is a plus)
  • Solid accounting knowledge, with hands-on experience in implementing the full accounting cycle.
  • Solid knowledge in IFRS and local regulations including tax.
  • Systems: MS office, (GP Dynamics, Cognos, D365 or similar accounting software).
  • Advanced reporting skills. (ability to handle standard/ nonstandard reporting requirement to internal and external stakeholders).
