Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Financial Controller  in Tunisia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. This dynamic role involves actively overseeing accounting, financial controlling, administration, and reporting completion and processes. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Finance & Asset Manager to execute tasks with accuracy, ensure compliance, enhance efficiency, and improve internal controls and IFRS standards. As a key player, you will manage the outsourced accounting firm's contract, guaranteeing quality service and timely deliverables aligned with business goals. In addition to handling the fundamental finance tasks, you will have the opportunity to optimize financial processes and maintain robust reporting standards. Your contributions will enhance financial governance and support strategic decisions, playing a vital part in the company's success.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Accounts Management & Reporting: Actively manage the performance, service quality, and efficiency of the Outsourced Accounting firm, ensuring alignment with business objectives; Organize, review and control monthly group reporting for Tunisian portfolio (5-7 entities), ensuring accuracy and timeliness; Monitor and review local regulatory reporting; proactively addressing compliance and risk considerations.
  • Payments & Treasury Management: Enforce rigorous controls over the P2P process to ensure compliance and financial prudence before payment execution; Coordinate and streamline domestic and international payment cycles, ensuring liquidity management and operational efficiency; Foster strategic collaboration with banking partners to optimize payment processes and manage financial transactions effectively; Reviewing of invoices for compliance, e.g. VAT, company details, purchase order, signature, stamp etc.
  • ERP / Process Management: Support the Senior Finance & Asset Manager to define local accounting, payment & processes inside the ERP; collaborate with Outsource Accounting firm on the above; oversee and manage the ERP system Super-Users for Tunisia
  • Tax & Compliance: Review tax returns prepared by Outsourced Accountant; analyze agreements and assess accounting and tax treatment and implications; Stay ahead of evolving Tunisian GAAP, tax legislation, and regulatory changes, proactively advising on necessary business, ERP, and reporting adaptations.
  • Audit Management: Lead and coordinate the annual external audit process, ensuring seamless execution and audit readiness; manage the tax audit process, overseeing documentation accuracy and risk mitigation; Establish a robust audit governance framework to uphold financial integrity and transparency.

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance,
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (Tunisian accounting standards).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA (preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial controlling.
  • Strong track record in financial reporting, consolidation, and analysis for multiple entities.
  • Hands-on experience in payments, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting in Tunisia.
  • Prior experience in the energy, infrastructure, or multinational corporate environment is an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and process optimization would be advantageous
  • fluent both written and spoken in English and French
