The core responsibilities of this role can be broadly categorized into two workstreams: (i) Tax Compliance and Tax accounting
(60%); and (ii) Tax Structuring (40%).
Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of (local) tax returns, as well as international tax filings (if applicable);
- Maintain compliance with all applicable tax regulations and identify potential risks;
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors for reviews, filings, and regulatory reporting;
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate their potential impact on the organization;
- Manage tax audits and tax controversy matters, including liaising with tax authorities and external tax advisors;
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions, ensuring accurate reporting in financial statements;
- Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate reporting of tax liabilities and deferred taxes;
- Assist in the preparation of tax-related disclosures for financial reporting and audits;
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls related to tax processes;
Tax Structuring:
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to support business objectives and minimize tax exposure;
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of business initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions;
- Partner with legal and financial teams to optimize organizational structures and cross-border tax arrangements;
- International tax and tax structuring, both with regards to managing tax risks and optimizing returns for existing
projects and projects in the development stage;
- Review of tax assumptions in financial models;
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Review contracts and assist in drafting contracts that are in line with structuring decisions to ensure tax exposure are
reduced;
- Acting as internal adviser for tax related questions;
- Liaise with the Transfer Pricing Manager to comply with transfer pricing policies and documentation.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, accounting, and structuring, preferably in corporate tax department;
Language: fluent both written and spoken in English, other languages can be an advantage;
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in tax compliance software and ERP systems;
o Strong understanding of tax regulations;
o Expertise in tax accounting principles;
o Experience in tax controversy, financial models, tax compliance and tax structuring.
Soft Skills:
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
