Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Logistics Manager in Tunis, Tunisia to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Logistics Manager you will provide a logistics management service to the relevant business unit through frequent reporting and ensuring that goods are delivered on time, within budget and compliant with procurement policies.
Main responsibilities
- Manage all assigned Logistics team members within the designated project
- Ensure that all supply chain related risks are identified during the structuring phase, timeously communicated to Project Manager and incorporated into the project risk register for tracking and mitigation
- Prepare and issue logistics advice to the project
- Develop and present budgetary assessments and logistics plan
- Responsible for the RFPs with global logistics companies for large-scale project cargo and freight forwarding, evaluations, recommendations, and final procurement strategy with regard to transportation
- Establish and maintain the project shipping register once contracts are in place and before shipments commence
- Monitor the customs clearance procedure to secure on-time movement of the shipments
- Maintain communication with customs offices and deal with any problems or delays in shipments
- Manage the execution of logistics services, materials, equipment, and delivery schedules for project
- Oversee inventory management systems and maintain accurate records of stock levels
- Compile lessons learned report and submit to Project Manager
- Report on a bi‐weekly basis to the Project Manager on production, shipment, and delivery status
- Analyse transportation costs and identify areas for improvement in logistics processes
Qualifications and competencies
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics
- 5+ years’ experience in Logistics management on related Projects including 2+ years’ experience in a managerial position
- Excellent knowledge in Excel, MSWord, and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of accounting systems like SAP / D365
- Would be advantage professional certifications/licenses such as: Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified International Trade Professional (CITP), Certified Export Compliance Professional (CECP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Customs broker license
- Speak and write English fluently along with French and Arabic
- Excellent communication skills, convincing personality, customer, and goal oriented
- Independent and self-dependent working
- Good negotiation skills, building relationships and trust
- High integrity
- Strong team leadership and team builder with excellent managerial skills and multicultural awareness and intercultural competence
