Main purpose of the position

Currently we are looking for a Senior Eletrical Technician In Urucuia, Minas Gerais to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Senior Eletrical Technician, you will be responsible for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level. Provides training and supervision to junior personnel. Able to be Authorized Person on Duty (APD) when the Plant Supervisor is off site.

Main Responsibilities

Perform electrical duties on Plant

• Perform work in the modification, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
• Perform switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level.
• Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks.
• Report, troubleshoot and repair of all electrical equipment and systems.
• Maintain PV arrays, combiner boxes and DC system.
• Ensure inverter availability and perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain Transformers and Switchgears.
• Provide LV and HV (up to 230/500 kV) switching as per Authorisation level.
• Control and perform monthly electrical equipment and tools inspections.
• Perform functions of Authorised Person and Responsible Person as per Plant requirements.
• Be on standby as required and be able to work overtime and weekends according to plant schedule and needs.  

Supervision and training

• Act as team leader; Supervise, train and evaluate electrical staff.
• Be able to stand in for Plant Supervisor.  

Perform general and ad hoc duties

• Assist with reporting.
• Perform various HSE related inspections.
• Report to Plant Supervisor and perform Appointed Person on Duty (APD) functions when Plant Supervisor is not on site.
• Perform general work as required on site.

Qualifications And Competencies

• Education: Qualified Technician (with valid CFT license). Technologist education will be a plus.
• Education in electrical areas, such as Electrotechnics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics and Electronics.
• Experience: 2+ years of electrical experience (ideally solar electrical experience).
• Computer literate, proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Language: intermediate both written and spoken in English will be a plus, and proficient in formal Portuguese.
• Valid driver’s license.
