Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Financial Controller in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Financial Controller you will be responsible for full financial ownership of assigned Dutch holding companies within Scatec’s Netherlands-based corporate structure. The role ensures accurate, compliant, efficient, and transparent financial management, supporting Group reporting, tax, treasury, and governance requirements. The Financial Controller safeguards Dutch substance requirements by performing key finance functions locally and by enabling Dutch boards to make sound, well-informed decisions through clear, timely, and high-quality reporting and analysis.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Responsibility for day-to-day financial management of the assigned portfolio of Dutch entities, including accounting, reconciliations, and support in statutory reporting under guidance of the Senior Finance Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, and support with IFRS (where applicable), Dutch tax legislation, and local governance requirements by preparing documentation and maintaining audit-ready files.
  • Support in treasury and cash-flow forecasting activities for assigned entities, with review from the Senior Finance Manager.
  • Maintain records of funding structures, intercompany balances, and assist in covenant monitoring.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly closings and reporting to Group Accounting, including preparation of reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Process and book financial transactions (e.g. intercompany loans, shareholder funding, FX, accruals, non-standard entries) and escalate complex items for review.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Take responsibility for intercompany reconciliations, ensuring balances are aligned and documented across entities, with review where needed.

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3–5 years' relevant work experience, preferably from an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and Dutch tax requirements.
  • Experience in treasury management, cash-flow planning, and audit support.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch proficiency is an advantage).

 For the particular role we also expect

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS
  • Understanding of treasury & cash-flow management, including for transactions of holding companies
  • Understanding of Dutch tax regulations, including CIT, VAT, transfer pricing principles, and basic understanding of tax treaties.
  • Experience in preparing audit documentation and supporting external audits, under supervision
