Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Strategy & M&A Advisor in Oslo, Norway/Cape Town, SA, or Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Senior Strategy & M&A Advisor you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Scatec’s corporate strategy and strategic transactions. This position is responsible for creating, documenting, and implementing group-wide strategies in close collaboration with the CEO, CFO, and the full Executive Management Team (EMT). The role also leads project-based strategy support across the organization and manages end-to-end M&A processes to support Scatec’s growth ambitions, including acquisitions, divestments, and platform partnerships.

 

Main responsibilities 

 

Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Drive the annual strategy cycle (“strategy wheel”) from development to execution
  • Secure external insights on industry trends, competition, and market developments
  • Consolidate strategic input and ensure organizational alignment and buy-in
  • Prepare high-quality materials for strategic discussions and decision-making
  • Lead strategy implementation and communication planning across the organization
  • Provide prioritized strategic support and lead corporate projects with EMT engagement
  • Ensure alignment between strategy and operations across business units
  • Co-lead business development initiatives and pursue new growth opportunities

M&A and Transaction Advisory

  • Support and lead transaction processes for renewable energy projects across all deal stages
  • Provide commercial, financial, and strategic advice on M&A activities
  • Develop materials and negotiate valuations and terms with counterparties
  • Support integration planning and strategic rationale for key transactions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, asset management, and BD teams
  • Drive partnership and joint venture efforts for emerging opportunities

Stakeholder & Resource Management

  • Present strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders including CEO, CFO, and EMT
  • Manage internal and external resources within allocated budgets
  • Prioritize workstreams within the Strategy & M&A function
  • Align messaging with strategic initiatives through early engagement with communications

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Law, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting, investment banking, or corporate M&A.
  • International Experience in renewable energy markets, particularly in emerging economies, is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in strategy development, partnership establishment, and transaction execution.
  • Deep understanding of power and renewable energy markets.
  • Strong grasp of business fundamentals and economic analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
