Tax and Accounting Specialist (12 month contract)

Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Tax and Accounting Specialist in Kyiv, Ukraine to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Tax and Accounting Specialist, you will be preparing and agreeing with the line manager the local UA GAAP financial statement as well as tax reports on periodical basis. You will also provide support to the line manager with regards to financials and tax planning. You will submit Financial reporting and local tax reports on a timely basis. You will track changes in legislation and specifically the Tax Code and make sure that all relevant changes will be implemented in the working process. The Tax and Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy of financial reporting and effective tax planning.

Main responsibilities 

• External reporting to statutory and tax authorities, including but not limited: financial statements under UA GAAP, VAT, CIT, Land lease, Transfer price reports, etc.
• To follow up on changes in local UA GAAP, Tax legislation, bring relevant ones for business to the team, and propose changes in business process, ERP system works, and reporting approach whenever needed
• Coordinate and please lead role in annual external audit process
• To support line manager during tax checks
• Upon request from tax office to draft, agree with line manager and provide written answers to tax authority
• Analyse agreements and assess accounting and tax treatment
• Adhoc internal queries
• To control balances on the tax-related accounts (CIT, VAT) and do its reconciliation with data from tax payer cabinet
• Follow-up on supporting documents for business transaction
• Support in implementation the ERP system’s changes
• Support manager in ad-hoc tasks

Qualifications and competencies 

• University level degree, preferably with specialization in Finance, Accounting
• Comprehensive excel skills
• ACCA, DipFR ACCA, CIPA is advantage
• Preferred international experience either during work
• 3-5 years of experience within accounting, tax, VAT, import duty, controlling, budgeting and internal controlling experience
• Local Ukrainian GAAP
• Tax regulation knowledge and practical experience
• Dedicated and someone who takes “ownership” to tasks and responsibilities, flexible, adaptable and solution-oriented
• Organized and methodical, a hands-on “doer” with attention and accuracy to detail, able to handle complicated models and large contracts
• Language: pre-intermediate written and spoken in English
