Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for Site Civil Engineer for our Shadwan project in Ras Gharib, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.

As our Site Civil Engineer, you will Oversee all Civil activities on-site, track the physical progress of work, and report on status and deviations regarding quality, timeline, cost, and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment). Engage daily with site supervisors from sub-suppliers and manage sub-supplier/contractor relationships during the execution phase. This includes managing all aspects of work, from progress and quality to HSE, CLO (Community liaison office), security, and direct supervision of daily construction activities.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Supervise all civil activities at the site, monitor progress, quality, time, cost, and HSSE compliance, engaging daily with site managers of sub-suppliers. Responsible for civil construction elements such as buildings, fences, roads, foundations, sewerage, drainage, trenching, and laydown areas.
  • Review and approve construction documentation submitted by contractors, including Method Statements, and support the engineering team in reviewing material/component specifications and datasheets.
  • Organize and lead Pre-Construction Meetings with subcontractors to ensure mutual understanding and agreement before commencing civil activities.
  • Monitor daily progress of contractors, evaluate estimates for completion, and initiate corrective or recovery plans as needed, supporting quantity surveillance for measurable contracts.
  • Manage technical queries from suppliers, facilitate discussions with Lead and Civil Engineers, ensure construction follows the latest drawings and specifications, and maintain updated “red mark” documentation.
  • Coordinate with SSO quality inspectors for critical activities, ensuring their daily presence for inspections, audits, witness points, and hold points.
  • Support the PTM, Lead Engineer, and Civil Engineer with technical assessments, investigations, due diligence, and design reviews.
  • Assist the quality team with NCR processes, follow up on corrective actions, and be involved in final inspections, documentation, punch lists, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Education: Minimum degree in Civil Engineering or Technician; preferable specialization in Wind or Renewables.
  • Experience: At least 8+ years in heavy civil works (such as wind, roads, bridges, dams, large buildings), with over 3+ years in EPC large-scale construction projects; knowledge of civil industry best practices, Quality Control Systems, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto, Ishikawa, etc. Ideally, 1+ year of wind energy experience.
  • Language: Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic.

Additional Information:

  • 12 Month Contract with potential contract extension.
