Main purpose of position

We are currently looking for an Local Compliance Officer in Bogotá, Colombia, to join our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.

To act as the local focal point for compliance, ensuring effective implementation of the compliance program and managing compliance risks in local projects and operations in line with corporate standards and applicable laws.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support with local contracts, if necessary, guarantee IDD is conducted, and compliance clauses are implemented.
  • Conduct local trainings and communication action
  • Supporting Scatec to conduct Risk Assessment of the project.
  • Support with Integrity Due Diligence connected to the project.
  • Coordinate/Monitor Grievance Mechanism in case compliance complains are coming
  • Supporting compliance presentations connected to the project (e.g.: board directors presentations, if any).
  • Participating of meetings representing local compliance.
  • Supporting Social Investments topics (guarantee IDD is conducted, and compliance clauses are implemented).
  • Be the local point of contact for compliance issues.
  • Conduct internal investigation when delegated.

Qualifications and competencies:

  • 4 years of bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4–6+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in compliance, legal, audit, or risk management.
  • Experience in a multinational environment and/or highly regulated industries is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of anti-corruption and compliance frameworks (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Colombian legislation).
  • Strong knowledge of compliance programs, including third-party due diligence (IDD), risk assessments, policies, and internal controls.

  •  

    Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across different business functions in Colombia, but mainly EPC.

  • Familiarity with investigations, WB channels, and handling sensitive matters with discretion.

  • Experience delivering compliance training and promoting a culture of integrity.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate risks into practical business solutions.

  • Fluent or Advanced in English (written and verbal).

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset.

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating in cross-functional and international teams.

  • Resilient and adaptable in fast-paced and evolving environments.

  • Confident and quick learner, with a continuous improvement mindset.
