Overview

Provide support to the line organization in project planning and execution. The role is responsible for supporting compliance with tax requirements for the portfolio of Scatec companies in Brazil.

 

The position will focus on supporting the BPO in day-to-day activities, including the review and follow-up of tax calculations, reconciliation of tax positions, and the timely submission and rectification of ancillary obligations. It also involves monitoring tax compliance routines, supporting the issuance and control of tax clearance certifi-cates (negative certificates), and handling internal requests related to the proper fiscal registration of invoices and tax reporting.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Maintain the accounting function and ERP system

  • Maintain the ERP system, ensuring consistency and accuracy of financial and tax-related data.
  • Support the local finance organization and established procedures and controls for all relevant finance processes, ensuring alignment with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Perform validations and checks to ensure consistency of information recorded in the system, including proper documentation, approval flows and audit trails within the ERP system (e.g. D365).
  • Support procurement and internal teams on finance and tax-related matters, ensuring correct information flow for tax compliance purposes.

Tax

  • Support the BPO in ensuring that all direct, indirect (VAT) and payroll tax returns are filed, and that all taxes, lev-ies and duties are correctly calculated and paid on a timely basis.
  • Support the preparation, review and submission of statutory tax reporting, covering both direct and indirect tax-es, including SPED (EFD-Contribuições, EFD-ICMS/IPI), ECD, ECF, DCTF, DCTFWeb, EFD-Reinf, MIT, etc.
  • Perform and support tax calculations and reconciliations related to ICMS, ISS, PIS/COFINS, IRRF, INSS and other withholding taxes, as well as IRPJ and CSLL.
  • Support tax payment routines, ensuring timely settlement of tax liabilities.
  • Monitor the P2P process, following up on invoice processing and ensuring proper tax treatment and timely re-cording.
  • Monitor the issuance of sales and service invoices, ensuring compliance with applicable tax rules and correct tax application.
  • Prepare and submit PER/DCOMPs and support tax credit recovery processes.
  • Monitor tax compliance deadlines and maintain proper control of the tax calendar.
  • Monitor and manage tax clearance certificates (CNDs), ensuring entities remain in good standing.
  • Track and support the timely renewal of digital certificates (e.g. e-CNPJ).
  • Support the review and proper fiscal registration of invoices, working closely with procurement and internal teams to ensure correct tax treatment.
  • Support ERP tax processes (e.g. D365, Pipefy), ensuring correct tax configuration and data input.
  • Support interactions with tax authorities and BPO in case of inspections or requests, including gathering and or-ganizing documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Education: Degree in Accounting;
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience from working with tax matters and structuring, preferably at a Big 4 or energy companies, large law firm or in-house position.
  • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English is a plus.

Core technical competencies

  • Tax Principles (advanced): Strong knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, including ICMS, ISS, PIS/COFINS, IRPJ/CSLL and withholding taxes, as well as understanding of accounting standards (IFRS and local GAAP) and their impact on tax reporting and calculations.
  • System Operations (intermediate): Manage and operate key tax and finance systems (e.g. e-CAC, D365, Power BI and tax reporting tools), supporting tax compliance and reporting processes. Contribute to system improvements, data accuracy and ongoing digitalization initiatives within the finance and tax function.
  • Financial Modelling (basic): Support tax-related inputs in financial models, including basic understanding of cash flow, tax impacts on business cases, scenario analysis and repatriation structures.
  • Tax overall: Tax structuring and planning (holding structures, agreement structuring, capital structuring, domestic taxes, financial model repatriation); Tax compliance (review of returns, manage tax audits, risk identification and control)
