Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Senior Project Finance Manager in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.
The Project Finance Manager will prepare and manage Financial Evaluation, Financial Analysis, Risk Assessment and Financing of new projects and new opportunities during opportunity during all phases of project development i.e., from Inception to Financial close.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Financial modelling - Prepare comprehensive financial models for investment evaluation based on lender and equity perspectives. Take responsibility for portfolio of Financial Models within the portfolio of projects.
  • Delivery of cash flow forecasts and analyse project scenarios
  • Evaluation of project risk and Analyse project return
  • Prepare Project Finance input to presentations during all project phases
  • Negotiate relevant financial closing documentation and co-ordinate signing and closing
  • Interaction with lenders, insurance advisers, tax advisers and financial advisers
  • Finalise lender related requirements for financial closure and ensure timely compliance
  • Evaluate new technology financial feasibility
  • Investigate tax legislation, legal aspects, and novel funding opportunities
  • Obtain project inputs from all stakeholders and ensure appropriate capturing in financial models
  • Define results in project risk/return
  • Liaise with project team members and departments across organisation and geographies
  • Support senior management decision making

Qualifications and competencies

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar University level education with CA/CFA/MBA
  • 10+ years background in Project Finance, Structured Finance or M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)
  • 7+ years’ experience in complex financial modelling using MS Excel
  • Demonstrated successful financial closing of several Project Financed deals
  • Renewable energy experience
  • Solution orientated, dedicated and someone who takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong background in Project Finance, Structured Finance and Corporate Finance
  • Capability to build up networks with key local stakeholders and lead transaction teams
  • Intercultural understanding and the ability to work in an international environment is important
  • Excellent MS Excel Financial Modelling skills, AI support
