Why this role matters

As the Transaction Manager this role will focus on the commercial structuring and coordination of Lyra Energy’s transactions, specifically the project finance and security packages needed to enable the implementation of Lyra Energy’s assets. The role further supports the operationalisation of the trading entity, ensuring systems are developed to enable Lyra Energy Trading to comply with its contractual interfaces with its counterparties efficiently and enabling Lyra to participate in the future energy market design of South Africa.

 

This is a role for someone who wants to combine analytical depth with purpose, learn in a fast-moving international business, and build experience in one of the world’s most relevant industries.

 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will take ownership of analytical and reporting activities across the asset portfolio, including:

  • Manage or support all significant commercial transactions relating to Lyra Energy, including project finance transactions, power purchase agreements, investments, security structuring and project acquisitions
  • Lead in coordinating the project finance deals relating to Lyra Energy’s generation assets
  • Managing the lender due diligence process and interfacing with the relevant Scatec business units
  • Negotiate commercial, finance and security agreements
  • Represent Lyra as a client to Scatec with regards to the Scatec core services (EPC, O&M, Management and Development)
  • Investigate, research and develop key business operations required by Lyra to function as an efficient trader

What you’ll bring

Experience and qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar university level education
  • 5 years’+ specific experience in transaction management
  • 5 years’+ broad experience working within an integrated IPP, with inhouse Development, Management and Operations
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in leading commercial transactions with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Comfort in excel and analytics, to support project finance analysts
  • Business oriented experience from the energy industry
  • Self-driven, comfortable with high work pressure and a positive team player
