At Scatec, you get to work on something that matters. We develop, build, own, and operate renewable energy solutions that accelerate access to reliable and affordable clean energy. As part of a global and agile organisation, you will work with skilled colleagues across functions and geographies, take real ownership, and contribute to a company driven by the vision of improving our future. At the heart of everything we do is our belief that we bring the energy - the energy for change, connection, and growth. It shapes how we collaborate, innovate, and create impact together. If you are looking for a role where your contribution is visible, your development matters, and your work supports a more sustainable future, Scatec may be the right place for you.

Ready to make an impact?

Why this role matters

The O&M Manager plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations of Scatec’s renewable energy assets in Romania, with a primary focus on wind. As Scatec builds its Romanian wind portfolio through acquisitions and greenfield development, this role defines the country O&M strategy – including the optimal split between in-house capabilities and subcontracted services – and structures, negotiates, and manages the subcontracts that deliver it. By setting the operating model early and managing OEM service providers, BoP contractors, and HV specialists effectively, this role protects asset value, maximizes production, and turns project delivery into stable, high-performing operations.

What you’ll be doing

Your role is to design, build up and run all operations and maintenance activities for Scatec’s renewable projects in Romania, based on a subcontracting-led delivery model, with the following priorities:

  • Build up and run the O&M organisation from the ground up.
  • Define and own the O&M strategy for Romania: make-or-buy decisions, contracting strategy for wind (OEM service agreements vs. independent service providers), and the roadmap from acquired operating assets to greenfield COD readiness
  • Optimization of revenue generation (availability, curtailment and balancing cost management) and absolute cost efficiency through lean processes and the best combination of in-house and subcontracted activities
  • Structure, tender, negotiate and manage O&M subcontracts – WTG service and availability agreements, balance-of-plant, HV substation and grid-code compliance services – with clear KPIs, availability guarantees and liquidated damages regimes
  • To contribute/ participate in business development activities in Romania
  • Ensure safe conditions for employees, contractors, subcontractors and 3rd party

Your work will support real decisions, real assets, and real operational outcomes.

What you’ll gain

  • Professional growth through ownership, exposure, and meaningful contribution from day one
  • Hands-on experience in a role where the challenge is energising, fast-moving, meaningful, and built on learning through doing.
  • Exposure to complex stakeholder environments, including WTG OEMs, BoP and HV subcontractors, Transelectrica and distribution operators, local authorities, and industry bodies.
  • The opportunity to shape the O&M strategy and subcontracting model of a growing renewable portfolio from the ground up, and to build specialized expertise in wind asset operations within large-scale renewable energy projects

What you’ll bring

  • Solid experience from O&M contract negotiations and management of subcontractors, ideally including WTG service agreements (OEM and/or ISP)
  • Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, or similar field
  • Knowledge of safety legislation and best practices
  • Electrical HV engineer knowledge of the Romanian grid and the Romanian TSO/ authorities

Advantageous:

  • Experience in wind farm operations, renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to multi-contractor environments and experience developing contracting strategies (make-or-buy, full-scope vs. multi-contract).
  • Experience working in remote or rural project locations
