Why this role matters

As the Technical Development Manager this role provides the senior technical engine behind the composition and optimisation of Lyra Energy’s generation portfolio. The Senior Technical resource leads the holistic technical design of generation assets and their optionality, produces the technical solutions that underpin generator structuring and CPPA offers, and works alongside the Transaction Manager to ensure each project’s technical and commercial design are optimised together.

This role is the Technical authority on plant configuration, yield, performance and dispatch, and interfaces with Operations and the digital platform so that the as-designed portfolio can be operated, forecast and optimised in the market.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will lead the technical composition and optimisation of Lyra’s generation portfolio:

  • Configuring technology mix, sizing and hybridisation (solar, wind, BESS) across the generation assets to maximise value and performance
  • Drive holistic project design and optionality from a technical standpoint, modelling configurations that allow assets to serve multiple customers, tenors and market routes
  • Support generator structuring, providing the technical inputs to the EPC and project-finance processes, lender technical due diligence and the independent engineer interface
  • Support customer engagement and negotiation, providing the technical basis for CPPA offers – yield, availability, performance guarantees and shaping profiles
  • Produce design support, developing the technical solution and the technical content of the CPPA
  • Interface with Operations and the digital platform, ensuring the as-designed plant translates into accurate forecasting, dispatch optimisation, metering and performance monitoring

Your work will support real decisions, real assets, and real operational outcomes

What you’ll gain

  • Professional growth through ownership, exposure, and meaningful contribution from day one
  • Hands-on experience in a role where the challenge is energising, fast-moving, meaningful, and built on learning through doing.
  • Building and maintaining multi-technology optimisation tools and the technical business case across configurations
  • Support integration between Lyra Trading and Scatec Operations and Management at a technical level

What you’ll bring

Experience and qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Energy) or similar university level education
  • 5+ years’ specific experience in technical design and modelling of renewable energy generation assets
  • 5+ years’ broad experience working within an integrated IPP, with in-house Development, Management and Operations
  • Strong production-modelling, optimisation and quantitative analysis skills (e.g. PVsyst, energy-yield and BESS dispatch modelling)
  • Proven track record delivering technical solutions on grid-scale and behind-the-meter projects
  • Strong comfort in Excel optimisation models and Python / SQL for technical analytics, with BI tools (PowerBI / Tableau) for time-series and load-profile data, to support project-finance and trading analysts
