Ready to make an impact?

Why this role matters

As our QC Civil Supervisor, you will ensure that quality monitoring on site is carried out, perform inspections, ensure contractors comply with the Project Quality Plan, and follow up and close out Punch Lists while liaising with Contractor Construction Supervisors and Engineers. This is a role for someone who wants to combine civil quality control expertise with purpose, learn in a fast-moving international business, and build experience in one of the world’s most relevant industries.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Report back to the Site Quality Lead on a daily basis on planned versus actual progress on quality inspections, sign-off and Punch Listing.
  • Proactively engage with Contractors’ supervisors to optimise daily progress and inspections, and monitor the contractor for compliance with the Project Quality Plan at all times.
  • Ensure all work carried out is compliant with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Review, follow up on and implement contractors’ QC registers such as non-conformance registers, QCPs, ITP checklists and punch lists.
  • Perform inspections at site.
  • During commissioning and mechanical completion, follow up open punches, sign off punches closed by suppliers, and participate in Site Acceptance Tests.
  • Participate in Project Meetings as required.
  • Identify, advise and report to the HSE Manager issues and risks associated with the Project.
  • At all times, keep the quality records, including all working registers, punch lists, ITPs and checklists, up to date.
  • Ensure all Inspection Equipment registers, calibrations and calibration certificates are managed and current at all times.
  • Ensure special attention is given to hidden works control, process testing and materials used by means of Civil Checklists.
  • Ensure all Red Line drawings, Single Line Diagrams and as-built drawings are complete, reviewed and signed off, with registers updated and uploaded.
  • Ensure all Pre-Commissioning Site Acceptance Testing has been completed and signed off and is compliant with the Operation & Maintenance Manual and requirements.

Your work will support real decisions, real assets, and real operational outcomes.

What you’ll gain

  • Professional growth through ownership, exposure, and meaningful contribution from day one.
  • Hands-on experience in a role where the challenge is energising, fast-moving, meaningful, and built on learning through doing.
  • Broader experience in civil quality control across inspections, commissioning, mechanical completion and Site Acceptance Testing on a large-scale renewable energy project.
  • Practical exposure to quality management systems, ISO 9001:2015 compliance, contractor quality oversight and the management of project quality records.

What you’ll bring

  • Technical National Civil Trade Certificate with at least 5 years’ site experience.
  • Proof of internship or apprenticeship completion at a reputable Civil Construction Institution, such as ESKOM or a governmental sector institution, with 10+ years’ experience on large-scale projects.
  • Formal Quality Qualification, such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Formal Quality Inspection Training Certifications, with proof of 15+ years’ Quality Control experience and contactable references who can act as referees for experience and achievements on construction projects.
  • Competence in navigating and applying Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience in working and complying with ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
  • Experience in working and complying with IEC Standards.
  • Full computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
