Why this role matters
The HSSE Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally responsible construction site. Based at the Scatec Sidi Bouzid 2 project in Tunisia, you will monitor daily site activities, verify compliance with HSSE requirements, and support the implementation of Scatec's HSSE Management System. Your work will help protect people, assets, and the environment while contributing to the successful delivery of an important renewable energy project.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Support the implementation of the project HSSE Management System, HSSE Plan, and Scatec procedures.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with HSSE requirements and safe work practices.
- Monitor PPE use, housekeeping standards, contractor performance, and vehicle/equipment safety.
- Verify Permit to Work compliance and ensure work is performed in accordance with approved procedures.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Deliver toolbox talks, promote workforce HSSE awareness, and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including training, drills, and emergency response coordination.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, excavations, hot work, and mobile equipment operations.
- Verify the implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Monitor electrical safety requirements for PV construction, including LOTO, permits, and commissioning activities.
- Conduct environmental inspections and support compliance with legal, project, and international HSSE requirements.

What you'll bring
Experience and qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent HSSE qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of HSSE experience on large construction projects, ideally within the energy sector.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Fluent Arabic and good written and spoken English.
- Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
