Why this role matters

As a Finance Administrator, you will help keep Scatec’s day-to-day finance processes running accurately and efficiently across South Africa and Botswana. Based in our Cape Town office, you will support the procure-to-pay process, from receiving and processing supplier invoices to coordinating approvals, preparing payments and reconciling accounts. Your attention to detail and consistent follow-through will help ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, financial records remain reliable, and colleagues receive responsive support.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will take responsibility for the daily administration of supplier invoices and payments, including:

  • Manage incoming emails in the Finance South Africa and Botswana mailboxes, responding to queries and following up on outstanding items.
  • Process supplier invoices through Eye-Share Capture, ensuring accurate company codes, accounting periods and unique invoice numbers, while improving invoice pattern recognition.
  • Coordinate Eye-Share approval workflows, assigning the correct approvers and ensuring all required approvals are obtained.
  • Verify general ledger coding and validate VAT and tax compliance before invoices proceed for payment.
  • Prepare and process payment batches.
  • Allocate payments to supplier accounts in the accounting system.
  • Complete monthly bank and supplier account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Respond promptly to invoice and payment queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Your work will support accurate financial reporting, dependable payment processes and strong working relationships with suppliers and colleagues.

What you’ll gain

  • Professional growth through ownership, exposure, and meaningful contribution from day one.
  • Hands-on experience in a role where the challenge is energising, fast-moving, meaningful, and built on learning through doing.
  • Broader commercial understanding through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Stronger financial administration and reconciliation capabilities within a global renewable energy business.
  • Practical experience supporting procure-to-pay activities across South Africa and Botswana.
  • Experience using Eye-Share invoice capture and approval workflows alongside accounting systems to support accurate and efficient supplier payments.

What you’ll bring

Experience and qualifications

  • An accounting qualification and/or at least three years’ bookkeeping or clerical administration experience.
  • Experience working within a finance team, with exposure to bookkeeping, purchase orders, invoicing, credit control, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency and confidence using other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to complete routine tasks accurately and consistently, solve problems, manage deadlines and work independently once processes are understood.
